    Describes physiological function, deficiency and toxicity symptoms in agricultural crops, and others.

    It does not clarify how much Mo is necessary; plants can tolerate a very large range of concentrations without adverse effects.  How much is necessary for submerged aquatic plants?  This would require trial and error experimentation.

    Mo deficiency results in the inability of plants to convert nitrate to ammonium.  So even though plants can absorb nitrate, nitrate can accumulate to toxic concentrations within leaf tissues.  Thus, measuring water column nitrate concentrations as a proxy for uptake and utilization may not be accurate.

    Mo deficiency results in various physically observable symptoms.  Older leaves may become chlorotic and necrotic and newer leaves may become severely misshapen with shortened internodes.

    Is this the result of Mo deficiency?  After several months of growth, it is still stunted, but at least it no longer looks like a burnt matchstick:
